The past week, we have been living with P'can, P'pong colleague, he come here to help out the "MASSIVE" program at Luma. He has been experience our baby "Ai-ai", happy and moody all week long. And he wrote an email to tell his girlfriend about our Ai-ai, which I love to past along to our family and love one.
============== excerpt =================
I have been living with my colleague and his family, his name is
Thana, a Thai guy. I have introduced Thana to work with my company a
long while ago, he is still here, in the US, working away.
Thana married to a nice lovely Thai lady name A. A moved here, to LA,
about 4 years ago to be with her husband. Their recent addition to the
family is a baby boy named Ai. Ai-Ai (as his mother lovingly called
him) is an 8 months old whining and screaming box. He makes noise,
that's his occupation, which he seems to enjoy tremendously. He makes
noise when he's hungry. He makes noise when Thana and A don't feed him
fast enough. He makes noise to sing himself to sleep. He makes noise
when he's hot. He makes noise when he poops and pees. He also makes
noise for no reason (that we can discern of) some times. I'm sure he
is a reasonable guy and he probably makes noise for some reason but
since he cannot tell us what it is, it's hard to tell.
Fortunately for Ai, he has a very cool redeeming quality which totally
offset his whining and screaming and then some. He has this awesome
smile which melts every heart of every soul who is lucky enough to see
it. It is the kind of smile that comes right out from his heart, not
the pretentious smile we encountered day in day out from the adults.
It is the smile that simply lights up the world and once you have seen
it, there is nothing you can do but smile back and forget all of your
trouble. It also reminds you that there are things of good and pure
remained in this world, things that are worth fighting and preserving
this world and what remained of its resource and environment for. It
is a smile from a person who cannot talk, cannot walk, cannot even
help himself to the restroom, but he has brought such a great joy to
his parents and all the people around him. He also provides hours and
hours of entertainment, even laughing along with people who are
laughing at him.
Yes, I am in no position to resist his charm and I am totally falling
for his smile. I'm done for. To top off the deal, I don't even have to
take care of him, he has his parents to do that. So I simply,
thoroughly and whole-heartedly enjoy his company. His screaming and
whining are the song to my ears. His beautiful complexion and weird,
ill-proportioned soft body are the feast to my eyes. I do stupid
sounds and make stupid faces just to see him smile and laugh. I love Ai.
